HARTY CUP REPLAY St Caimin's, Shannon 0-11 Ardscoil Rís, Limerick 1-4: IN A tight semi-final replay, St Caimin's qualified for the first time for the final of the Munster Colleges Senior A Hurling Championship at Meelick yesterday.
They denied Ardscoil Rís of Limerick and now have a crack at Thurles CBS in a fortnight’s time.
St Caimin’s opened the scoring with an Alan Mulready point and this was followed by another from Timmy Crowe in the 11th minute.
It took a further five minutes for Ardscoil to grab their opening score when Kevin Downes landed a point from a free and they trailed by 0-7 to 0-2 at the break.
Ardscoil, however, were thrown a lifeline after the break when Downes sent a shot to the top right-hand corner of the St Caimin’s net.
The Shannon side didn’t panic and they picked off three unanswered points to cancel out Ardscoil’s goal, Caimin’s.
Ardscoil were reduced to 14 for the last seven minutes when Tomas Nolan got a second yellow.
