SCHOOLS RUGBY:PBC 7 CBC5

PBC SURVIVED a late scare in yesterday’s replay at CIT to book their place in the final of the Munster Schools’ Junior Cup at the expense of old rivals, CBC.

Steven Dinan came to the rescue for PBC with an injury-time converted try in last week’s drawn game, and the fullback repeated that feat after 27 minutes to give his side a deserved 7-0 lead.

CBC battled bravely to close the gap and it was Rob O’Dowling who touched down for them in injury-time to reduce the deficit to two, with a conversion in front of the posts to follow. However, Eoin Geary’s attempt was unsuccessful.
