SCHOOLS RUGBY: PBC11 Rockwell College 3PBC BOOKED their place in the last four of the Munster Schools' Junior Cup by deservedly defeating Rockwell College at CIT yesterday.

Given the heavy conditions, it certainly wasn’t an afternoon for expansive rugby, but with a strong breeze at their backs in the first half, PBC held a 6-3 lead at the interval.

Steven Dinan expertly converted two penalties for the Cork school, while Colman Kennedy responded with one for Rockwell.

Despite battling bravely to engineer an opening in the second half, Rockwell were unable to breach a disciplined PBC defence.

Séamus Glynn was PBC’s most potent threat throughout the afternoon, so it was no surprise when the fullback touched down for the only try of the game in the 57th minute.

PBC will now meet CBC in the semi-finals.

Yesterday’s other quarter-final between Cresent and Glenstall was postponed and will now be played this weekend.
