MUNSTER SCHOOLS' SENIOR CUP PBC 17 St Munchin's 6:HOLDERS PRESENTATION Brothers College, Cork, advanced to the semi-finals of the Munster Schools' Senior Cup with an easy win at Woodleigh Park yesterday.
The game was transferred to Highfield’s ground at the last minute as the Temple Hill pitch was deemed unplayable.
St Munchin’s raced into an early 6-0 lead with a drop goal and a penalty from outhalf Ben Nugent.
Ross Caplice came close to getting a try for Pres but knocked on near the line and on the stroke of half-time prop Killian Kingston did get in for a try under the posts and Rory Scannell converted to leave it 7-6 in favour of the Cork side at half-time.
Two tries early in the second half, on 40 and 47 minutes, by winger James Kiernan saw Pres race into an 11-point lead.
The Mardyke College was never troubled after this and must now travel to Limerick to face Crescent Comprehensive at the start of March.
