Ireland's Lorraine Regan finished fifth in the F57 Shot Put with a throw of 6.88m on the penultimate day of competition at the Paralympic Athletics European Championships in Swansea.

The event was won with a seasons best throw of 10.58m from Bulgaria's Stela Eneva of Bulgaria, who won gold in the F57 Discus ahead of Ireland's Orla Barry yesterday.

Offaly woman Regan (23) was marginally short of her season’s best with her throw and was the only finalist with six valid attempts.

Catherine O’Neill (F51), from New Ross in Wexford, was sixth in the F32/F51 Club Throw final (combined class) with 11.76m.
