Ospreys 32 Scarlets 3:The Ospreys completed a RaboDirect Pro 12 double over rivals Scarlets with a comprehensive victory at the Liberty Stadium in a clash which saw the visitors have two players sent off late on.

After the Ospreys won at Parc y Scarlets in September they were again the dominant side with a penalty try and two further tries for lock James King and skipper Kahn Fotuali’i.

Outhalf Dan Biggar added 14 points with the boot and Fotuali’i also kicked a drop-goal as Ospreys stormed to victory in front of a crowd of 19,443 in Swansea.

The Scarlets had replacements Rob McCusker and Gareth Owen sent off in the final minutes for foul play and also had another three players sin-binned – George Earle, Tavis Knoyle and Aled Thomas.

The Ospreys, boosted by the return of Wales prop Adam Jones, eased into an early 6-0 lead courtes of a penalty from Biggar and a snap drop-goal from scrum-half Fotuali’i .

Centre Ashley Beck’s kick to the corner further racked up the pressure on the Scarlets whose scrum disintegrated as they defended a five-metre scrum. Referee Nigel Owen gave the home side a penalty try converted by Biggar.

There was some respite for the Scarlets when outhalf Thomas opened their account with a 27th-minute penalty.

Scarlets lock George Earle was yellow-carded for an illegal tackle on Fotuali’i, who had taken a quick tapped penalty.

Two further penalties from Biggar before the interval extended the interval lead to 19-3.

After the break James King’s unconverted try on 48 minutes was added to by Biggar’s fourth penalty after Richard Fussell had broken down the left flank. Scarlets’ bad night did not get any better as as replacement scrumhalf Knoyle and outhalf Thomas were both sin-binned f before a dramatic final three minutes saw McCusker and Owen both shown red for foul play.
