GORDON RICHARDS confirmed yesterday morning that One Man is to run in Saturday's Pillar Property Investments Chase at Cheltenham after working his impressive King George Chase winner at Greystoke.

The gelding pleased Richards with a scintillating piece of work on Tuesday and sealed his ticket to Prestbury Park by working "satisfactorily" yesterday morning. "I haven't told Mr Hales yet but I'm going to run him on Saturday," said Richards.

One Man is likely to face four rivals as it is expected that John Edwards will pull Monsieur Le Cure out of the race on account of the predicted good ground and Aidan O'Brien will run Life of a Lord at Leopardstown the following week.

That leaves Barton Bank, Flashing Steel, Young Hustler and Willsford as the grey's potential opponents on a course where One Man has performed poorly on his two previous visits - in a novice hurdle in 1992 and the 1994 Sun Alliance Chase.

Flashing Steel was nominated by Richards as the one "most likely" to cause problems in the £20,000 contest on Saturday.
