Olive out of Oaks

Olive The Twist will miss Sunday's Irish Oaks, the filly's trainer John Gosden announced yesterday

Olive The Twist will miss Sunday's Irish Oaks, the filly's trainer John Gosden announced yesterday. Speaking at Newmarket races, he said: "We put her in there to have a look to see what the opposition would be like - but we're going to take the easier option and will run her in a Listed race at Newmarket on July 17th."

Meanwhile, Walter Swinburn has been booked to ride Glorosia for Luca Cumani in the Kildangan Stud-sponsored event. Last year's Ascot Fillies Mile winner is usually the mount of Frankie Dettori but he has been claimed to ride Godolphin's ante-post favourite Bahr.

Swinburn has won the Irish Oaks twice before with Unite in 1987 and on Melodist who deadheated with Dimenuendo in 1988.
