THE Tyrone Division One Football League final between Errigal Ciaran and Carrickmore was abandoned yesterday after an Errigal Ciaran official collapsed and died.

Barney Horisk (56), a former club chairman, suffered a heart attack and failed to respond to efforts by doctors to resuscitate him.

The game, played at Fintona, had moved into injury time and an ugly brawl had just broken out when tragedy struck.

Four players were sent off as referee Michael Hughes tried to restore order, with up to 25 players involved in a violent fist fight.
