Rep of Ireland 3 Israel 0:FIONA O'SULLIVAN fired a stunning hat-trick as she led Sue Ronan's team to a comfortable victory in their final World Cup qualifier at the Carlisle Grounds.
American-born O’Sullivan has been a revelation since declaring for this country a year ago and she was too hot for the Israelis to handle as the Chicago Red Stars striker took her tally to six goals in five international appearances.
O’Sullivan broke the deadlock in the 59th minute when she unleashed a stunning strike from 30 yards that flew past Iris Antman in the Israel goal.
O’Sullivan made it 2-0 four minutes later and brought up a brilliant hat-trick in the 80th minute when she ran onto a Meabh de Burca pass to slot home.
In between the two goals, Aine O’Gorman was harshly dismissed for a second bookable offence for taking a free-kick before the referee had blown the whistle.
