Conor O'Dwyer looked like he had traded punches with Mike Tyson yesterday, but the top jockey received an upbeat medical bulletin and is confident he will be back in the saddle at Thurles next Thursday.
O'Dwyer, who is lined up for such choice rides as Youlneverwalkalone and Native Upmanship at Cheltenham, was stood down for seven days at Downpatrick on Wednesday after being involved in a four-horse pile up.
Despite nursing a black eye and feeling generally sore yesterday, O'Dwyer said: "I'm fine, and although I was a bit worried about my left hand swelling up, I've just seen the doctor and it should start going down in a day or two."
O'Dwyer was unseated from Miss Divin on Wednesday and other jockeys involved in the subsequent melee were Shane McGovern, Robbie McNally and Eddie Callaghan.
