O'Callaghan seals victory

CORK CITY...3 BOHEMIANS..

CORK CITY...3 BOHEMIANS...2There was a dramatic end to last night's meeting of the heavyweights as Cork City and league champions Bohemians clashed at Turner's Cross.

Cork scored an injury-time winner through George O'Callaghan as he scampered clear of the Bohemians defence to shoot past Shay Kelly to give the Munster side a slender victory.

Cork took the lead after 19 minutes when O'Callaghan slid the ball home from John O'Flynn's pass. However, within 36 seconds the champions were level when Glenn Crowe headed in Bobby Ryan's far-post cross.

Cork were let off the hook when Bohemians missed a penalty as Michael Devine saved from Simon Webb. Five minutes later Mark Rutherford made it 2-1 for the visitors when he ghosted in at the far post to turn home another Ryan cross.

Cork, who lost 2-0 to the champions in their last meeting last November, drew level again when O'Flynn netted after a Billy Woods effort came back off the posts.

The match was three minutes into added time when O'Callaghan poached his second goal of the night, beating the offside trap to latch onto Dan Murray's through ball and he steered it wide of Kelly and inside the far post.
