Monaghan United 4 Everton 1;FIRST DIVISION high-flyers Monaghan United proved too good for Munster Senior League side Everton AFC of Cork at Gortakeegan last night. Everton started gamely, a John Desmond free-kick almost catching Gabriel Sava flat-footed but Declan O'Brien headed home on 20 minutes and finished from close range two minutes later.
Ryan Brennan scored United’s third on 35 minutes.
Everton’s Roy Long’s shot was deflected in off United’s Aidan Collins in the 83rd minute but a minute later O’Brien completed his hat-trick.

GOALS from Seán Russell and Stephen Doyle gave UCD a win over LSL side Cherry Orchard at the Belfield Bowl last night. College got their noses in front on 37 minutes when Russell pounced to fire home a rebound. College stretched their lead on 67 minutes. A Russell shot from 14 yards crashed off the crossbar and substitute Doyle was there to
fire the rebound into the net. Orchard fought back and skipper Alan McNevin's header on 80 minutes inspired a late siege of the UCD goal.
