Ireland's number one pitch and putt player, Ray Murphy, will lead the six-man Irish team in the European team championship at Lloret Papalus, Catalonia from May 3rd to 5th. Murphy from the Templebreedy Club in Crosshaven will be joined by Sean Downes (Stackallen, Co Meath), Sean Harkins (Ryston, Newbridge), Derry McCarthy (Deerpark, Killarney), Mark Millar (Cement, Drogheda) and Chris Scannell (Collins, Cork). The travelling reserve is Derek Courtney (Glenville, Dublin). Murphy, the reigning strokeplay champion, played on the Irish team that defeated Catalonia at Solus in 1997 and at the IGB, Dublin last year.
