Young Munster produced an outstanding second-half performance to overwhelm DLSP and pick up their first league victory of the season. DLSP had looked the better side for much of the opening half but they had no answer to the revitalised home side after the interval as they scored two first-class tries and also kept their visitors scoreless.
Eamon Buckley kicked two penalties early on for Young Munster before Damien McCabe reduced the arrears with a penalty. However, on the half hour, DLSP broke through for the opening try with scrumhalf Mark Cross making the running for a splendidly-taken score by Romanian Mika Vioreanu. McCabe converted but Munsters moved to within a point with a Buckley penalty just before half time.
After the turnover Clem Casey and Des Clohessy went over for brilliant tries and though both conversions were wide they struck again at the death with a Mike Lynch penalty.
