A goal in extra-time by Peter Mullen enabled St Fintan's to capture the Leinster Schools' Senior Cup at the AUL complex yesterday. Against the run of play, St Fintan's took the lead on 24 minutes when Matthew Moffat got in ahead of goalkeeper Carl Nolan to convert Anthony Cook's cross.
St Declan's replied seven minutes later when Ian McCabe scored with a low shot from just outside the box. St Fintan's, however, were back in front shortly after the hour when Robert Plunkett's cross from the left went straight in.
St Declan's drew level again through Ronan Keegan from the penalty spot on 73 minutes but Mullen pounced decisively just before the end of the first period of extra-time with a fierce drive.
