UCC 2-16 NUIG 1-15:A GOAL FROM Stephen Moylan seven minutes from time crowned a superb second-half display from UCC at Dangan yesterday. In the second half UCC outscored the home side 1-11 to 0-5.

Shane O’Neill turned in a superb display while NUIG captain John Lee shone at centre back. Shane Burke goaled to give UCC a 1-3 to 0-5 lead after 16 minutes. Caimin Morey’s frees kept NUIG in touch and Peter O’Brien hit a goal to give them a 1-10 to 1-5 interval lead.

But UCC were relentless on the restart and shot four points before Aidan Harte replied for NUIG. Richie Foley, Joe Jordan, Moylan and Shane Burke hit another four for UCC to lead by 1-13 to 1-11. Morey (two) and Conor Hassett responded for NUIG to take the lead but Moylan’s goal secured victory for UCC.
