Mount Temple qualified for their first Leinster Schools' Junior Cup Section A final with a comfortable win over St Mel's yesterday.
Their number eight, Daragh Ffrench, was in fine form, scoring three tries, one of which was converted, as they led 17-0 at half-time.
The Longford school made some progress in the second half and came close to scoring when they won a scrum on the Mount Temple line before Paul Ferns cleared the danger.
But by this time Mount Temple had added two more tries to their increasing tally. Substitute Stephen Pluck rounded off the scoring with a try moments after he had been introduced. Mount Temple play HFDLS, Skerries in the decider.
