The Bank Holiday open weekend at Connemara was particularly successful for David Mortimer. Although the county Galway links had, as usual, a high number of visitors for the October break, the local +1 handicap golfer showed that local knowledge coupled with solid
golf is an unbeatable combination. Despite the wind and rain, Mortimer took the gross prize in the Friday singles v par with a score of two down. On Sunday, he was again in the winners' enclosure when his 35 points won the gross prize in the singles stableford competition.
By any standards, that's consistency.
