LEINSTER COLLEGES 'A' SHC CHAMPIONSHIP: Good Counsel College 0-12 Coláiste Eoin 0-7 :DESPITE been reduced to 14 midway through the opening half, Good Counsel College went on to control the second period to earn victory at New Ross yesterday.

The strong crossfield wind made it quite difficult, but in the first period Coláiste Eoin played their best hurling.

But Good Counsel, sensing this was a game they could win, seldom allowed their more fancied opponents scoring opportunities.

It was the accuracy of midfielder Seán Moran that proved pivotal through this period, as he struck four points, one from play, as points from Garrett Foley, Jack Guiney and Declan Foley kept the home side in contention.

With Alex Pilkington adding another pointed free the sides went in level, 0-5 each, at the interval.

Good Counsel, despite their numerical disadvantage, having had Declan Foley sent off for a wild pull midway through the opening half, dominated after the restart with Guiney and Mark Aylward providing the points.

Coláiste Eoin were confined to two Moran pointed frees.
