Gavin Moore scored on his debut as Finn Harps ended a run of three games without a win to bounce back to the top of the First Division table with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Cobh Ramblers at Ballybofey on Saturday.
Moore opened the scoring in the seventh minute, before going off injured just before half-time. A mistake by Cobh defender Anthony Wolfe saw Moore chip over John Donegan.
Kevin McHugh scored his 18th of the season to make it 2-0 on 32 minutes after Johnny Kenny knocked Niall Bonner's corner back across goal.
Pat Oldham snatched a goal back for Cobh on 55 minutes, but a dominant Harps remained on top and Johnny Kenny scored a spectacular third goal on 68 minutes.
Goalkeeper Danny Healy was the unlikely hero as Sligo Rovers failed to build on last week's win at Dubin City, slumping to a dull scoreless draw at home to bottom of the table Limerick.
Healy made a string of good stops, the pick of them from Brendan Hughes on 72 minutes. Limerick had the ball in the Rovers net, but Derek McCarthy's 40th-minute effort was ruled out for offside.
