RYAN MOORE might not be engaged in the Derby but Britain's champion jockey can nevertheless make his presence felt at the Curragh this weekend and especially with Formosina in tomorrow's Group Two Ladbrokes Railway Stakes, writes Brian O'Connor.

Opposing Aidan O’Brien in this juvenile race has proved an expensive business as he has won it in 10 of the last 11 years with horses of the calibre of George Washington and Rock Of Gibrlatar.

The Coventry Stakes fourth Samuel Morse is his hope this time but Ireland’s juvenile team was significantly out of luck at Ascot and Moore, who rode Samuel Morse last week, is now on Jeremy Noseda’s impressive seven length Doncaster winner Formosina.

Eight of the 12 runners in the Sapphire Stakes are British trained and if Spin Cycle starts better than he did in the Kings Stand at Ascot then Bryan Smart’s runner could provide a touch of value in a tough heat.
