SEAN BOYLAN was reappointed Meath football team manager for a 15th year at last night's meeting of the Meath County Board.
During the Dunboyne man's reign over the past 14 seasons Meath have won three All Ireland senior titles and three National League titles.
Boylan is the longest serving manager in GAA history and his reappointment was inevitable once he agreed to allow his name to go forward again. He was unopposed and he is expected to retain his selectors, Frank Foley and Eamonn O'Brien.
Meanwhile, Rory Kinsella was last night appointed as Wexford's new hurling manager in succession to Liam Griffin. Kinsella, a schoolteacher in Bunclody, has been a selector for the past two years and was nominated for the job by Griffin who resigned last month.
Kinsella, who received a unanimous vote of confidence from the Wexford County Board, will be allowed to appoint his own selectors. Seamus Barron of Rathnure, the third member of Griffin's management team, also announced his resignation but could possibly change his mind and rejoin Kinsella.
Meath forward Evan Kelly, concussed and stretchered off in the second half of Sunday's curtain raiser in Navan while assisting his club Drumree, is expected to be fit for Meath's next league engagement, away to Cork on Sunday week.
However, Colm Brady who was given an unusual role at wing back against Cavan last Sunday having been named at corner forward for the All Ireland final, is expected to be out for a longer spell. He sustained a knee injury in the second quarter of a competitive and demanding match.
