FAIS SENIOR SCHOOLGIRLS' FINAL/Loreto, Letterkenny 2 Eureka SS, Kells 1:LORETO Secondary School, Letterkenny, claimed their first Umbro FAIS Senior Girls title since 1991 yesterday by coming from behind to beat Eureka of Kells in the final at Tolka Park yesterday.

Geraldine McLaughlin, hat-trick heroine from their 3-2 semi-final victory over Ursuline, Sligo, again played the pivotal role by scoring both goals.

All the game’s goals came in the first half with Áine Bennett giving Eureka a 12th-minute lead by latching onto a Shianne Swarres pass and drilling her low shot into the bottom left corner from an acute angle.

McLaughlin equalised nine minutes later, finishing off a flowing move that involved Amy Thompson and Ciara Grant before she found the net with a rising shot from the edge of the penalty area.
