A try two minutes from time by centre Ray McIlreavy saw St Mary's triumph in last night's quarter-final of the floodlit cup in Anglesea Road.

Wanderers appeared to have done enough in the first half, with tries from Kevin Nowlan, Bobby Baggott and Dan O'Sullivan putting them 17-3 in front midway through the half.

But some astute kicking from outhalf Fergal Campion saw St Mary's claw their way back and with 10 minutes to go his seventh successful kick of the night put them ahead by a point.

A Nowlan dropped goal restored Wanderers lead before McIlreavy cut loose to score under the posts.
