St Michael's - 28, CBC Monkstown - 8
The powerful running of centres Peter McGibney and Frank Kearney carved up a spirited CBC Monkstown defence at Donnybrook.
McGibney's boot also played a big part and his fifth-minute clever chip was collected by alert left wing Bernard Tolan, who went over in the corner.
Although Andrew Keogh shot a 21st-minute penalty for Monkstown, with the last kick of the half McGibney earned the light blues an 8-3 interval lead.
The game was put to bed in a three-minute spell that produced tries for McGibney and Kearney. CBC refused to lie down and scored a try from Chris Kirwan before a Tolan try rounded off a comfortable St Michael's victory.
