Craobh Chiaráin 2-6 Lucan Sarsfields 1-8:TWO TELLING goals did the trick for Craobh at Parnell Park on Saturday as they edged into the Dublin senior hurling championship final.
It wasn't a day for hurling. Wet and windy in Donnycarney. Craobh, having faced the gale, were content to be level at the break, 2-3 to 1-6.
David Keane knocked in their first goal in the third minute and Stephen McDonald rattled in their second, following a Derek O'Reilly free, in first-half injury-time.
Lucan had plenty of possession. They were moving the sliotar well. Tommy Somers cracked in their goal from a free in the 25th minute. Two minutes earlier, Aidan Roche saw his flicked effort skip inches past the Craobh post.
There were only five scores in an earnest second period where chances were few.
Darren Kelly put Craobh in front. Two points from Kevin O'Reilly then gave Lucan the advantage.
All-Star Alan McCrabbe levelled it with his second sideline of the afternoon in the 41st minute, and his free, five minutes from time, gave Craobh victory.
It was Lucan's third time in succession to fall in the semi-final. They were left to rue 13 wides, seven more than Craobh recorded.
