LEADING jockey Tony McCoy was a relieved man last night after an X ray examination showed that he had not broken a wrist as feared in a fall at Wincanton yesterday.
The young Ulsterman, who is on the 97 winner mark for the season, took a crashing fall from Eastern River at the third flight of the Corscombe Novices' Handicap Hurdle.
Although he walked away from the incident it looked on his arrival in the weighing room that something was amiss as he painfully cradled his right wrist.
"Tony will ride out work in the morning and, hopefully, take it from there," said his agent Dave Roberts after the good news. The championship leader is due to ride at Ascot this afternoon.
