McCarthy's men abroad

You probably never noticed but a couple of months back Planet Football took the difficult, nay heartbreaking, decision to drop our transfer gossip section because, well, none of the moves we ever exclusively forecast ever happened. Frankly, humiliation got the better of us, so much so we declared: "forget this for a lark."

Funnily enough, one of the moves we exclusively forecast was that Fulham's Steve Finnan would move to Coventry City. Phew, fortunately for the Limerick man we were, once again, talking baloney. Last Monday Finnan won the first division championship with Fulham and it's looking more and more likely that's the division Coventry will be playing in next season. A round of applause then for Finnan, and another one for his fellow county man Willie Boland who helped Cardiff win promotion to Division Two on Saturday. Altogether now: There is an Isle.
