Bohemians 0 UCD 0:BOHEMIANS CAN'T expect to turn over teams easily at Dalymount this season, insisted manager Pat Fenlon prior to the game.

And UCD certainly weren’t going to lie down as they defended superbly and were dangerous on the counterattack as they frustrated the champions in their own back yard.

It’s just one win in seven in the league now for Bohemians who’ve not won at home since the opening game of the season.

Fenlon, insisted he wouldn’t be underestimating UCD, and duly paid them the compliment of assigning his captain Paul Keegan to man-mark exciting College midfielder Greg Bolger.

And though Bohemians had much of the ball, it was College who carved out the early chances with defender Andy Boyle’s shot from Paul Corry’s corner cleared while Ciaran Kilduff got forward in space from the left to shoot narrowly wide.

Bohemians settled, though, finding their rhythm as the half worn on to produce its two best chances. Jason Byrne first blasted wide on 39 minutes after Keegan laid off Ruaidhri Higgins’ pass.

A long throw from Anto Murphy was then flicked on by Brian Shelley, but Mark Quigley volleyed straight at keeper Billy Brennan who parried the effort away.

UCD countered well and Bolger got free to send Kilduff into the box on 66 minutes. Keegan tracked back well to take the low cross off Bolger’s toe.

Bohemians pressed late on but never really threatened to pierce a solid College defence whose back four were magnificent.
