Edinburgh-born Neil Manchip won the Irish Club Professionals' Championship at Nuremore again yesterday after a second round 67 left him with a total of three under 139. He also won the title at Mount Wolseley two years ago.
Yesterday, Manchip, the head teaching pro at Royal Dublin, chipped and putted for birdie four at the second hole, while also birdied the seventh.
Three more birdies landed at the 12th, 13th and 16th but he lost a stroke at the last where he missed from three feet. "That was my only mistake of the day," disclosed Manchip (26). "I putted very well and played solid throughout. I'm delighted to have taken the championship again."
Damian McGrane finished second in the £12,000 tournament.
