Sale's captain Jim Mallinder has sacrificed an all expenses paid holiday in Gran Canaria to pursue his dream of winning senior England international honours.

The Sale squad secured their sunshine trip as a reward for reaching this season's Pilkington Cup final and almost clinching European qualification.

But the 31-year-old attacking full back flies to Argentina this weekend with England, seeking a prize he thought had passed him by just two years ago.
