Looking good for Star Begonia

The rain showers hanging over Doncaster are increasing the chances of Star Begonia taking her chance in Saturday's St Leger

The rain showers hanging over Doncaster are increasing the chances of Star Begonia taking her chance in Saturday's St Leger. Aidan O'Brien was yesterday unsure about riding plans for Star Begonia but said: "The filly wants an ease in the ground and is very well at the moment."

Should Star Begonia run and win it will complete a wonderful English classic season for O'Brien. The Ballydoyle trainer already has won the 2,000 Guineas with King Of Kings and the Oaks with Shahtoush yet surprisingly has drawn a blank in the Irish classics.

Shahtoush is also likely to be suited by the ease in the ground at Leopardstown for the Irish Champion Stakes and was described by O'Brien as a "probable runner." Plans are less certain however for his other entry Risk Material.
