ULSTER SHC QUARTER-FINAL/Down 4-24 Armagh 0-9:DOWN WERE quick to establish superiority on Saturday at Casement Park. The damage was done during a 13-minute spell from the 18th as they scored 1-6 without reply, Johnny McCusker snatching the goal and a point to leave Down ahead by 1-13 to 0-6 at the interval.

Armagh lost Donal Carville on a straight red card in the 40th minute for a foul on McCusker and Aidan Clarke netted the first of his two goals on 51 minutes.

McCusker got his second major three minutes later and the demolition was completed when Clarke netted again.

WEXFORD EXILE Mark Mythen rocked Derry with a 2-1 blast in two minutes from the 58th to send London in front and on their way to a shock victory at Casement Park on Saturday.

After a tight first half, during which the teams were level five times, a late point from a free by midfielder Ruairí Convery gave Derry a 0-7 to 0-6 interval advantage.

Derry struck after the resumption with six points to one in 15 minutes. They looked as if they would ease to victory but London’s rally carved out a dramatic win.
