TABLE TOPPERS Bray Wanderers were given the perfect start at Rathbane yesterday when David Minihan, who heads of to the US shortly, diverted his attempted clearance past his own goalkeeper, Eddie Hickey, after only three minutes.
Winning a free on the right, Robbie Coyle sent the ball into the heart of the Limerick goalmouth, but Minihan only succeeded in gifting the visitors.
Coyle was particularly prominent as Bray dominated the first half and in 30 minutes he was responsible for Bray taking a two goal lead. After outpacing Dave Connell on the left, he elected to shoot himself although he had two better placed team mates in the penalty area. Fortunately for him the ball rolled under Hickey's body, who was experiencing the kind of day he will wish to forget in a hurry.
Limerick lifted their challenge in the second half when the breeze strengthened and Antonio Izzi gave them some hope when he converted a hotly contested penalty.
