Wayne Levi extended his lead at the Greater Hartford Open to four strokes on Friday, shooting a second-round 65 to set a 36-hole tournament scoring record at 129, 11 under par.
Three players were tied in second place at seven under: Brandel Chamblee, who also shot a five-under 65, Jeff Maggert with a 66, and Steve Pate with a 68.
Levi started with six birdies on the front nine at the TPC at River Highlands. His only bogey of the tournament came at the 12th hole, when he missed a 2 1/2 foot putt for par.
Levi, the 1990 Hartford champion, has not had a victory since that year, when he was a four-time winner and player of the year.
