Making great strides to reduce her handicap this year at Rathsallagh is Margaret Leonard. One of the club's more promising players she began the year playing off 39, but has now reduced that to 23. Her latest victory came in the Mitsubishi Qualifier when playing off 28 she recorded a massive 50 points total to win by 13 points, from second placed Mary Bermingham. Leonard's score was a record nett score for Rathsallagh.

In last week's column Michael Turley of Elm Park was credited with equalling the course record in the monthly medal. In fact, Michael set a new mark of 63 when returning 6 up off a one handicap.
