A seven-try blitz by Leinster at Donnybrook saw them run out 44-13 winners against Jersey and put them on course for a Pool Five defining clash with Pontypridd in the British and Irish Cup on the second weekend in January.

Tries from Adam Byrnes and Brendan, and a penalty try, gave Leinster a 20-6 lead at the interval.

The home side were out of the blocks quickly on the resumption, Dominic Ryan setting up Leo Auva’a for the bonus-point try. Ryan then finished off a smooth move.

Wing Byrnes’ quick thinking exploited the blindside for number six, flanker Conor Gilsenan added the seventh while Jersey grab a consolation through Brendan O’Brien.
