Three Green Leaves, a 4,600 guineas purchase in the Kill sales ring last October, proved a runaway winner of the inaugural Goffs Autumn Bonus race at Cork on Saturday.
Joe Fanning had the daughter of Environment Friend in the front rank throughout, and she eased clear of her rivals two furlongs out to beat Amellia by eight lengths.
Winning trainer Mark Johnston was represented by his head lad Brendan Holland, who said: "She will make a serious staying filly next year but also has a nice turn of foot. This race has been the plan all season."
John Oxx and Pat Smullen combined for an 89 to 1 double on the card with Maid Of Killeen and Via Saleria. Maid Of Killeen could take her chance in the Group Three Beresford Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday after lengthening her stride inside the final furlong to peg back Trebizond for a neck win in the EBF Maiden.
Smullen, deputising for champion elect John Mutagh who enjoyed a Group Three success aboard the Noel Meade-trained Show Me The Money at Ascot, also produced Via Saleria with a well-timed final furlong challenge to beat Calamander by half a length in the ESB Electricity Handicap.
