England have suffered another setback ahead of tomorrow's vital European Championship qualifier with Bulgaria after Graeme Le Saux was ruled out with a virus.
The Chelsea defender came off at half-time with the problem in Saturday's goalless draw with Sweden at Wembley and he was unable to fly out yesterday with the rest of the squad to Sofia.
It means that England coach Kevin Keegan will now have to make four enforced changes from the side which played on Saturday. Paul Scholes was already ruled out through suspension after collecting his second yellow card of the competition on Saturday, while injury has ruled out David Beckham and Martin Keown.
Le Saux's absence could mean a call into the starting line-up for Sunderland's Michael Gray who did not let anyone down when he came on as a replacement in the second half at Wembley.
Keegan also confirmed that Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp would come into contention tomorrow - and he did not rule out the possibility of switching from a 4-42 system to a 5-3-2 formation.
