Lavine charts Harps' fall

Finn Harps dropped into the bottom two when they went down to Galway at Finn Park last night. Last season's cup finalists have now gone seven games without a win.

More worryingly perhaps, they have won just four games in 20 outings and are one point behind Galway, Sligo Rovers and Waterford United in the relegation struggle.

Don O'Riordan's young Galway side showed tremendous spirit to come from behind to claim victory. Barbados international Eric Lavine paved the way for victory with a superb display of skill up front. He bundled home Galway's opener just before half-time when he got on the end of Neil Ogden's corner.

Lavine was also involved in what proved to be the winner when he crossed for Kieran Foley to score from close range. Harps had opened the scoring in the 32nd minute when Kevin McHugh finished well after being set up by Tom Mohan.
