Glasgow 30 Connacht 9:GLASGOW ROUNDED off a mixed season with a win over bottom-of-the-table Connacht at a wet Firhill last night, but the scoreline barely reflected the balance of the match, decisively tilted in injury time by two tries.

Connacht took the game to Glasgow in the first half and emerged with a 9-8 lead from three penalty goals by Ireland tour party member Ian Keatley.

Connacht had lost fullback Troy Nathan to the sinbin after 14 minutes.

Glasgow took advantage by engineering a midfield move that ended with winger Colin Shaw chasing Lome Fa’atau’s kick to score in the corner.

After the break Glasgow struck decisively with a solo try from centre Hefin O’Hare, from a crossfield run that deceived the defence.

It looked as though the visitors might close the gap when Liam Bibo exploited an overlap, only for the defence to scramble back.

Then in the dying minutes of the game Glasgow turned the screw and were rewarded first with a try by their tighthead prop Moray Low and on the stroke of full time a second from O’Hare.
