LAOIS SFC FINAL Portlaoise 1-8 Arles-Kilcruise 0-8:FOR THE second year in a row the Laois senior football final was decided by a crucial late goal.
Champions Portlaoise led by a point with a minute to go when a high ball came in from midfield that was fielded by Diarmuid Carroll. But he spilled the ball and the alert Paul Cahillane got a fist to it and beat the keeper from close range.
A devastated Arles-Kilcruise did not have time to recover and Portlaoise went on to complete their four-in-a-row of county titles. .
