NFL DIVISION TWO: Laois 0-23 Fermanagh 1-14LAOIS FOOTBALLERS produced a dazzling first-half performance against fellow relegation strugglers Fermanagh at O'Moore Park on Saturday.
The visitors opened the scoring inside the first minute with a point by Ryan Carson but Laois drew level almost immediately with a point from Michael J Tierney. After this points were traded regularly before a defensive error allowed Fermanagh’s Daryl Keenan punch the ball to the Laois net after 20 minutes.
Laois stepped up their game in the closing 15 minutes of the half and kicked nine points without reply to lead at the interval by 0-15 to 1-5.
On the resumption Donie Kingston and Tierney added early points and from there on Laois coasted.
In the closing 15 minutes Laois pulled away and Tierney brought his tally to nine.
