THE eight-year-old mare Blacktrench Lady looks the bet of the day in the Creggs Apprentice Handicap at Roscommon this evening.

Gerry McArdle's charge lost her maiden tag at Ballinrobe in July and was quick to follow up by landing a Sligo handicap the following month in the hands of David Quirke.

She has run twice since and was not disgraced when finishing third to Genial Jenny and Manoori at Ballinrobe last time. Blacktrench Lady can regain the winning thread at the expense of Tramore scorer Comrade Chinnery.

John Oxx takes Masafiya back to Roscommon in an attempt to lose her maiden tag in the Tully Maiden. The three-year-old filly finished third to Gan Saru and Caudillo over course and distance last month and should be able to cope with Emmets Lady who finished one place ahead of the selection at the Curragh recently.
