King's Hospital 22 Wesley College 13:A RAMPANT KING'S Hospital overcame Wesley College at Terenure RFC to progress through to the second round.
Wesley started proceedings with a driving wind at their backs but, despite going in at half-time with a three-point lead, it was an advantage they would fail to sustain them through the second period.
King’s Hospital opened the scoring after nine minutes with outside centre Tom Quigley going over having completed an outstanding run from his own side’s 22.
Ben Heather also went over for King’s Hospital before Wesley had their first and only try on the board with Stephen Young going over on the stroke of half-time before Greg Hawe added a conversion to his two earlier penalties.
Wesley camped inside the Palmerstown side’s 22 for long periods of the second half but were unable to find a way through before King’s finally wore down the Wesley resistance with Graham Reynolds and Brian du Toit adding two more tries.
