Kevin Kinahan led Seir Kieran an Robbins trophy to their fourth Offaly hurling championship title on Saturday in this replayed final at Birr. The win was built on a stirring second-half performance, which featured an excellent goal by Johnny Dooley.

In the opening half of a close game, Seir Kieran played into the teeth of a stiff breeze and went in at the break leading 0-6 to 0-2. Johnny Dooley had scored four of the points, three from frees, while Joe Dooley arrowed over a free and Mick Coughlan also scored a point. Johnny Dooley's goal got his team off to a perfect start in the second half, but in the closing minutes the St Rynagh's' forwards tested the mettle of the winners' backs. Michael Conneely and Ciaran Flannery both had goal chances, but they were thwarted by a resilient Seir Kieran defence.
