Kilrush golf club in Co Clare recently held the official opening of their new clubhouse, which cost just over £800,000.
The new facility was opened by Minister for Defence, Michael Smith. The two-storey clubhouse measures 720 square metres, and includes changing rooms, a gym, a bar, dining room, function room and committee room.
Kilrush was founded in 1934 and for many years was a testing nine-hole course, before being extended to 15 holes and then a full 18 holes in 1994. It currently boasts a membership in excess of 600.With over £800,000 being spent on the new clubhouse, the club have now spent over £1.5 million on development over the last 20 years.
