VINNIE MURRAY CUP SEMI-FINAL: Kilkenny College 28 CUS 10:KILKENNY COLLEGE were clear masters of Dublin side CUS in an entertaining semi-final at the Oak Park grounds in Carlow yesterday, racking up four tries, one conversion, a penalty and a drop goal to their opponents' penalty and converted try.
Although CUS fullback and captain Mick McGrath opened the scoring on six minutes with a penalty, Kilkenny went in front on 15 minutes when wing Danny Ruddock crossed for an unconverted try.
From there their cohesion, forward strength and backline guile saw the men in black and red take control.
McGrath got some consolation for the Dublin city side when he went on a wonderful run from inside his half to cross for a try.
