LEINSTER COLLEGES 'A' SHC CHAMPIONSHIP: Kilkenny CBS 5-15 Carlow Schools 0-10:TWO GOALS in a minute helped Kilkenny CBS on their way to an emphatic win over Carlow Schools yesterday. The sides were locked at 0-4 apiece after 20 minutes when Kilkenny's Peter Vickery arrowed a low shot to the net.
Sixty seconds later Shane Cuddihy booted the sliotar to the net from just a few yards out. Those goals helped cancel out Keelan Brennan’s early points for Carlow, allowing the Kilkenny side to go in six points clear at half-time, 2-5 to 0-5.
Kilkenny landed quick points after the break from Stephen Tynan. Brennan replied with a pointed free for Carlow before Cuddihy hit his second goal from close range in the 33rd minute. By the 42nd minute Kilkenny had extended their lead to 13 points, 3-11 to 0-7, with Vickery and Danny Lenihan leading the way.
Vickery hit his second goal, sweeping in a loose ball to shoot the winners 16 clear with 12 minutes left. Cuddihy scored his third goal to seal an emphatic win.
